Growth mindset is a belief that with effort, intelligence can grow over time. It is a belief that a person can get smarter over time by focusing on the process of learning: persevering, practicing, and trying out different strategies.
One way to adopt a growth mindset is to add the word "yet" when you can't do something. For example, a person adopting a growth mindset might say, "I don't know how to create elegant Python scripts yet."
Fixed mindset is a belief that intelligence is a static, unchangeable quantity. When one is adopting a fixed mindset, they are often focused what "now" means about their intelligence. Someone adopting a fixed mindset might say "I did it right, so I'm smart." Or "I didn't do it well, so I'm stupid."
Those who practice adopting a growth mindset are significantly more likely to succeed in their endeavors.
