11 NAMES OF KDF SOLDIERS DIED ON CHOPPER CRASH IN NGONG-KAJIADO COUNTY ARE RELEASED.

Kenya Defence force (KDF) has finally released the names of 11 soldiers who died in the Ngong chopper crashed on Thursday, June 24.

In the statement by Commander Kenya Air Force Maj Gen F O Ogolla, the team send their heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of those who lost their loved ones through the crash.

"It is with deep sorrow that, on behalf of Kenya Air Force – Moi Air Basefraternity, I send our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families at this moment of grief following the demise of your loved ones and our colleagues," he wrote.

Ogolla stated that soldiers were hard-working and dedicated service members who earned their respect from their seniors, peers and juniors.

He noted the soldiers were also devoted and pleasant to work with. But, unfortunately, the cruel hand of death robbed them of dedicated, loyal, and hardworking service members who had a bright future in the Kenya Air Force.

The names of the soldiers include:

1. 105149 WO2 Joshua Obare Odera

WO2 Obare was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 04 May 1990. He was honoured with long service and good conduct, 20 great years of Nyayo Era, Ops Linda Nchi and Constitution Medals. By the time of his demise, he worked as a Technician, No. 3 Squadron, a job he did with distinction.

2. 105821 WO2 Tarcisio Wandera Namboka

WO2 Wandera was admitted into theKDF – KAF on 18 July 1994. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with Long Service and good conduct, 20 Great Year of Nyayo Era, Ops Linda Nchi and Constitution Medals. By the time of his demise, he worked as a Nurse at BMC, a job he did with distinction.

3. 105870 Ssgt Noah Wanyonyi Munialo

Ssgt Wanyonyi was joined KDF – KAF on 18 July 1994. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with Long Service & Good Conduct, 20 Great Year of Nyayo Era, Ops Linda Nchi and Constitution Medals. By the time of his demise, he worked as a Technician, No. 27 Squadron, a job he did with distinction.

4. 107671 Ssgt Bob Kipkemoi Aruasa

Ssgt Aruasa was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 03 Aug 02. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with Long Service & Good Conduct, Ops Linda Nchi and Constitution Medals. By the time of his demise, he worked as a Technician, No. 44 Squadron, a job he did with distinction.

5. 107808 Ssgt Anthony Simon Kamuti

Ssgt Kamuti was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 23 Sep 03. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with Long Service and good conduct, Ops Linda Nchi and Constitution Medals. By the time of his demise, he worked as a Technician, No. 27 Squadron, a job he did with distinction.

6. 108946 Ssgt Irene Wanjiku Githinji

Ssgt Wanjiku was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 01 Sep 08. During her tenure in the Service, she was honoured with United Nations and Constitution Medals. By the time of her demise, she worked as a Flight Attendant, a job she did with distinction.

7. 108347 Sgt Josphat Muriuki Maingi

Sgt Muriuki was enlisted into KDF – KAF on 26 Feb 07. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with United Nations and Constitution Medals. By the time of his demise, he worked as an Air Loadmaster Squadron, a job he did with distinction.

8. 108691 Sgt Steve Ombuka Angwenyi

Sgt Angwenyi was enlisted into KDF – KAF on 29 Oct 07. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with Ops Linda Nchi and Constitution Medals. By his demise, he

worked as a Technician, No. 14 Squadron, a job he did with distinction.

9. 108820 Sgt Stephen Omarian Omale

Sgt Omale was enlisted into KDF – KAF on 29 Oct 07. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with Ops Linda Nchi and Constitution Medals. By the time of his demise, he worked as a Technician, No. 2 Squadron, a job he did with distinction.

10. 109515 Cpl Bonface Ogati Mocheche

Cpl Ogati was enlisted into the KDF – KAF on 25 Oct 10. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with Ops Linda Nchi Medal. By the time of his demise, he worked as an Air Loadmaster Squadron, a job he did with distinction.

11. 110494 Spte Thomas Shekeine

Spte Shekeine was enlisted into the Kenya Defence Forces – Kenya Air Force on 07 Dec 14. During his tenure in the Service, he was honoured with Ops Linda Nchi Medal. By the time of his demise.

TUKO.co.ke had reported that a chopper belonging to KDF crashed in Ngong,Kajiado county.

A brief statement from KDF confirmed the Mi 171e model helicopter was on a training mission when it came down at Ol Tepesi area at around 9am on Thursday, June 24.
